FREDSEYE

Uruguay, 1998

She studied Design at ORT and FADU and identified her artistic work with surrealism. When picking these two works we felt attracted by the straight ford wardness of the looks, the presence, the size of the oils, the woman' s attitude Fredseye chooses to paint. That takes us right to the instant of the take just as if it were a photograph. It is indeed a fiction; in case you didn' t notice it, there are four eyes in the portrait. These 2 oils share a barocque style and an obvious surrealism based on a perfect realism: they not only show that dialogue immediately noticeable and shared while watching it, but are full of symbols, meaning and histories of the author. They end up in a six- paintings series that sum up her final production and her life so far.
